Yunquera Gold

Yunquera is a small village in the mountains of Andalucia, Spain - one of the famous "white villages" in the region.

The village is in a very fertile area and adjacent to the Sierra de las Nieves national park, a protected area full of birds of prey, wild goats and even a few wild cats.

Kenton and I moved to Spain in 2003, and live on a 22 acre olive farm. The olives grown on our land are said by villagers to be the best for oil - and who are we to disagree! Due to the cooler climate, they are less prone to insect infestation and ripen more slowly, resulting in the smoothest and purest olive oil in this area - Yunquera Gold! A clear golden in colour, our oil has a wonderfully rich, olive-y taste that is known far and wide!

We sell our olive oil in the UK, the US, and throughout Europe. We also use our precious oil to make handmade, fresh, and natural soaps and skincare products that we sell on our website www.lujos.co.uk. We use as many of our own natural ingredients as possible in our products, olive oil, wild lavender and rosemary, calendula and so on.

Interested in seeing a working olive farm? If you are part of a group of 10 or more, we'd be delighted to give you a tour, and talk about our life on our self-sufficient, off grid farm. You can see the farm, try our olive oil, take home some wild herbs you cut yourself, and even buy a gift to take home! Tours are available from April-October, by appointment only.
